Repeating Honors for Drug Education Campaign

6 March 2009

The second year running, The Truth About Drugs public information campaign has won seven Addys, in addition to the two awarded the previous year.  Six “They Said/They Lied” public service announcements were bestowed Bronze Addys while the campaign itself received the Silver Award.

“These PSAs have aired on over 180 TV stations and in more than 170 different public venues around the world, bringing the truth about drugs message to hundreds of millions,” said director Gary Ravenscroft.

The PSAs are a centerpiece of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World's public education effort to not only get kids and adults off drugs, but prevent their starting in the first place.

Conducted by the American Advertising Federation, the Addy awards are the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry. With over 60,000 annual entries, the Addy is the largest and most competitive advertising awards program in the world.
