DRUG-FREE PLEDGE SIGNING

Because a child’s first encounter with drugs can happen at any age, the answer is to get to them before the dealers do.

And that’s what the Foundation’s drug prevention activities are all about. Children take a pledge to lead a drug-free life and encourage their friends and classmates to do the same, thereby building a foundation for a drug-free life and a safer community.

The Drug-Free World program represents an enormous stride toward raising a generation who will remain free from the ravages of drug abuse. Through events and pledge signings, drug-free living has been promoted to millions of youths world over.

Once empowered, children take their drug-free message anywhere and everywhere. When a person signs the Drug-Free Pledge, they have taken the first step in participation towards the creation of a drug-free world. Pledges with hundreds or thousands of signatures create high impact when publicly displayed or presented to a public official. Millions of people around the world of all ages and from all walks of life have signed the Drug-Free Pledge—promising to live a drug-free life and promote a drug-free lifestyle.

In many countries and in many languages, the Drug-Free Pledge is a central activity of The Truth About Drugs campaign.
